So, I am having a really hard time with the probe from brewer's hardware.
They are really nice wire (22GA), so they do not fit well inside a RJ-11 crimp connector properly. After trying repeatedly, I gave up, and cut up a phone cable, and spliced it into to that.
Now, any probe (new or factory) plugged into the 2nd port, gives a reading of 262.2F. I would guess that when I stuck the new probe that I tried to fit into a crimp jack, it had a loose wire, and something went wrong.
Is the 262.2F something in software, that I can reset, or did I burn out that port?
I did manage to get the spliced probe to work on port 1, and now I have a triclover probe, at the cost of the 2nd temp input.
If I did damage my hardware, I would add a big warning to the cabling diagram (https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BwL7MAQzXK4PZWxOMmRTaHZqUVU&usp=sharing&tid=0BwL7MAQzXK4Pai1VR3c1NVN3aXc) that getting it wrong can fry the port, I would suggest to others to be VERY careful attaching new probes.
