I've used the pid settings previously, but have never noticed this much variation in my device, definitely not a 4.5 degree jump.
Anyone know what could have caused this?
Would I be better to just stick with hysteresis to avoid?
That is really strange, I will have to look into that. However, if you are using this to control a compressor based system (fridge/freezer), the on/off mode with a compressor delay and hysteresis would be more ideal to prevent cycling the compressor as often.
I am actually using this to control pumps that push glycol (temp controlled by a separate compressor based unit).
I may try the on/off.

What version of software is your unit running, you can see this by going into the info screen under the settings menu.
