Update. I took the brewbit to a friends house and was able to update (1.2) first go! (its small, but the screen saver feature is so important).
This morning I completely reset my router/gateway, and configured the static IP on the brewbit and it connects consistently to my airport router now. However, it still disconnects after that 2 minute mark. Probably as expected. But it also consistently reconnects. So, I am up and running and logging data. Woot!
My assumption at this point is that the connection issues are on the router end. It seems like the comcast router handing out IPs (TC8305C) has all kinds of issues. Im going to look into it more, but in my case when monitoring the connection through the router web panel it is reporting the brewbit as NOT connected even though its functioning fine. The router also says the computer that i am writing this on is also intermittently disconnected. SO... go figure. I bring this up for others who might have the same comcast router.
I plan to contact comcast to have them put the router in "bridge mode" so i can have my airport dish out IPs and monitor connections. Hopefully that will perform better.
Thanks everyone for help troubleshooting!
So based on my experience, it seems that any old issues with wifi connectivity and all the discussion about using 192.168.1.X have been fixed in 1.2. Is that correct?
is there a place i can see release notes for different versions?
