This would not be an option when using a static set point. When using a temp profile, it would be great if we could choose to use an output full time, when ramping up, or when ramping down.
An example of this is when fermenting a lager and setting the heating output to only be used when ramping up and the cooling output to full time. Only the cooling output will be used during the fermentation. This prevents the cycling back and forth between heat and cool and just allows the cooling output to control. Then the ramp up to the diacetyl rest temperature occurs and the heating output is used. While holding at the diacetyl rest temp, the heating output is not used. It is then ramped down to lagering temperature and held there. Again, heating output not being used.
